About 23-39 Bastion StreetYork Harbour Club

You know a building is large when it occupies an entire city block — York harbour Club is comprised of two connected towers and several spacious townhouses. The exterior features art deco style reminiscent of building designs from the 1920s and 30s — giving York Harbour Club a textured appearance.

Located at 23-39 Bastion Street, 181-195 Fort York Boulevard, 22-42 Grand Magazine Street and 80-96 Sloping Sky Mews, York Harbour Club is surrounded by parks, minutes from the Lake Ontario, and also near to big attractions in the Entertainment District — perfect for nature loving city-slickers.

The amenities offered here are nothing short of staggering — gym, yoga studio, hot tub, sauna, outdoor pool, rooftop patio with BBQs and garden, cinema room, party room, meeting room, games room, concierge, security guard, and parking garage. You can take a breath now.

With such a wide selection of suites and layouts, this building casts a large net for potential buyers; first-time home buyers, professionals, couples, and retirees, will all find something they like in this property. So, if you’re in the market for a condo or townhome, you should definitely check out York Harbour Club and see what’s available.

    The Suites

York Harbour Club is home to 502 downtown Toronto condos, based a variety of layouts and set at several different addresses — suites range in size from 491 square feet for a 1 bedroom to 2400 for a townhouse.

In addition to a large variety of floor plans, these units have desirable features and executive style; all units have hardwood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, soaker tubs, floor to ceiling windows, and private balconies. One parking space is included per unit.

This development also contains 6 townhouses with street level access — all featuring 3-storey layouts — ideal for individuals who want Fort York condos for sale with the privacy and square footage of a house.

    The Neighbourhood

The Fort York neighbourhood — or Garrison as it’s often called — extends from Bathurst to Strachan Avenue. This neighbourhood has been overlooked in the past, but has seen many new developments in recent years. With a rich history, urban convenience, and fast access to the Waterfront, residents of this community enjoy a balanced lifestyle.

With a condo in this charming neighbourhood, you’re just minutes from the Martin Goodman Trail — stretching along the lakefront, the Martin Goodman Trail runs for kilometres to the east and west, connecting to waterfront parks and opening up a wealth of recreation opportunities; there are baseball diamonds, tennis courts, rowing and yachting clubs, playgrounds, and acres of open green grass.

If you can’t start your morning without a freshly brewed coffee, you can stroll to Parisco Café on Fort York Blvd, or make your way to Bathurst for Tim Hortons and Starbucks. For a bite to eat you’ve got great choices in the area — there’s Fort York Pizzeria just a few blocks west, Roses New York and Macho Tex Mex Radio Bar to the east on Fort York Blvd, plus a vast selection of restaurants to the north in King West.

For nightlife, there are trendy spots nearby in Liberty Village like The Craft Brasserie & Grille, Liberty Commons at Big Rock Brewery, and 3 Brewers Liberty. You’ll find sports bars on For York such as Fox and Fiddle Cityplace. Or if you’re looking to go bar-hopping, the Entertainment District is walkable — and there’s literally a bar called Bar-Hop, which is a great place to kick off a night on the town.

Of course, there’s much more to this area than restaurants and bars — you can be a tourist in your own city and visit the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. Watch some stand up comedy at Yuk Yuk’s Toronto, or check out TIFF Bell Lightbox to try and catch a glimpse of celebrities, there’s theatres for shows or venues for live music. Not to be left out — sports fans have the Rogers Centre and Scotiabank Arena for the Blue Jays, Leafs, and Raptors.

    Transportation

23-39 Bastion Street has an 80 Walk Score — residents of this building can run most of their errands on foot, but may need a vehicle or public transit from time to time. For groceries, there’s a Healthy Island Health Food Store around the corner, and a Metro on Lynn Williams for larger pickups.

For those who rely on public transit to commute, there are east and westbound streetcars on Fleet St, north and southbound buses on Bathurst, and stops on Fort York Boulevard as well.

With a condo at York Harbour Club you also have an airport just minutes away — you can stroll to Billy Bishop and forget about park and fly or hopping on a subway.

Drivers have it easy here — it’s just a short trip to Lake Shore Blvd for the Gardiner Expressway on-ramp.

The York Harbour Club consists of two towers, 35 Bastion St and 38 Grand Magazine St, which Plaza Developments completed in 2015. Things I like: - The building has a variety of amenities, including an outdoor pool, gym, terrace with BBQ, pet spa, party room, visitor parking, and concierge, among a few others - I find units in the building to be designed very well with efficient layouts - Appliance sizes in the units are large, which is very different from other condos in the area - Maintenance fees are low for the building's offerings and haven't increased in the last two years - The building has a considerable reserve fund Things to consider: - Units in the building tend to be dark and not get as much sunlight as other units in different buildings in the area. I find the west-facing units at 35 Bastion Rd to be an exception - North-facing can be noisy and darker than others because of the Gardiner - The noise insulation between the unit and the hallway can sometimes be a problem, but unit-to-unit noise insulation is still good Something else worth mentioning that isn't either a pro or a con is that the building has a more mature feel. That's certainly not everyone's style, but many can appreciate it.
