About 46-54 East Liberty StreetLiberty Village Townhomes

It’s no secret that condo towers have invaded Liberty Village in recent years. However, that doesn’t mean that all prospective residents interested in this neighbourhood need to opt for a home that’s way up in the clouds. Enter the Liberty Village Townhomes, an intimate community made up of 466 stacked Toronto townhouses at 46-54 East Liberty Street, 22-50 Western Battery Road, and 21 Pirandello Street.

Constructed in 2005 by CanAlfa Group, the Georgian-inspired architecture actually highlights the grounds at 46-54 East Liberty, 22-50 Western Battery, and 21 Pirandello, rather than the other way around. Instead of focus their attention on designing indoor amenities and a fancy lobby, the developers and architects behind the Liberty Village Townhomes fashioned thoughtful outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy.

Those living in the complex can use carefully landscaped walkways to travel between homes, with sitting areas situated along the way. The rose garden is a particularly pleasant place to sit, and thanks to the benches set up in this enclosed area, residents can spend an afternoon here, reading a book or catching up with an old friend. And to top it all off (pun intended) the building also boasts a common rooftop terrace with barbecues, plus underground parking that accommodates visitors.

    The Suites

While townhomes often evoke ideas of enormous, multi-level homes suitable for families, this type of unit is only one of many available at 46-54 East Liberty, 22-50 Western Battery, and 21 Pirandello. In fact, the suites at the Liberty Village Townhomes range dramatically in size, from around 300 to 2,000 square feet. So while parents can rest assured knowing they can spread out in a three bedroom plus den home, single residents may want to opt for one of the studios.

The larger Liberty Village condos for sale at 46-54 East Liberty, 22-50 Western Battery, and 21 Pirandello contain two bathrooms each, and the dens in these homes have been known to make some pretty comfortable offices. The kitchens in these homes are open, for the most part, and many contain breakfast bars. Plus, many of the suites have been renovated over the years, and now boast upgrades like granite countertops and state-of-the-art appliances.

As previously mentioned, though, it’s all about the outdoor space at the Liberty Village Townhomes. This means that every home contains generous outdoor space: ground-level units have patios, upper-level homes have terraces, and all of these spaces boast barbecue hookups.

    The Neighbourhood

Tucked away south of the Canadian Pacific railway tracks and west of Strachan Avenue, Liberty Village is an interesting neighbourhood with an even more fascinating history. Once home to a number of prisons and factories, the area underwent a major transformation after the turn of the 21st century. Today, Liberty Village is home to offices, commercial businesses, and residences, some of which are situated within repurposed industrial buildings.

Besides all the offerings of Liberty Village, residents living at 46-54 East Liberty, 22-50 Western Battery, and 21 Pirandello don’t have to travel far to visit a range of attractions. Concerts, for example, are held at two nearby outdoor venues during the summer: Echo Beach the Budweiser Stage. Cyclists and pedestrians can also explore the lakeshore by traveling east or west along the Martin Goodman Trail.

    Transportation

Liberty Village Townhomes residents have plenty of options for getting around the city, whether they have access to four wheels, two wheels, or no wheels at all. Cyclists can make use of bicycle lanes in the area along Strachan, Fort York, and Queens Quay. Drivers, on the other hand, can use fast-paced roads like Lake Shore Boulevard or major highways like the Gardiner Expressway to travel throughout the city. Last but not least, those who prefer to use public transit can use the 63 Ossington bus to reach Ossington Station on the Bloor-Danforth line, while the King Streetcar is useful for those headed toward the Yonge-University-Spadina line.
