About 370-390 Dixon Road — 370 Dixon Condos
The 370 Dixon Condos is gargantuan, to say the least. While the condo is technically made up of two separate buildings — one at 370 Dixon Road and the other next door at 390 Dixon Road — the fact that they comprise a combined 897 Etobicoke condos is still impressive.
Built in 1971 by Tridel, the pair of towers reaches to 26 storeys. And with the architects needing as much space as possible for all of those units, it’s not surprising that there aren’t a ton of amenities on offer here. Residents of 370 Dixon and 390 Dixon do, however, have access to a concierge, visitor parking, a gym, an indoor pool, a sauna, and a games room.
The Suites
The condos at 370 Dixon Rd and 390 Dixon Rd predate the tiny home trend: the smallest units in the complex cover a generous 700 square feet and contain one bedroom; the largest boast three bedrooms plus a den, and reach to 1,300 square feet.
Having been around for so many decades, the Toronto condos for sale here now vary in appearance — some have been renovated in recent years, while others are in desperate need of a redesign. Still, some things are constant throughout both buildings, such as spacious living rooms, separate kitchens, and hardwood and tile flooring. And while many units feature balconies, those on the first floor walk out onto charming, ground-level patios.
The Neighbourhood
Kingsview Village | The Westway is an intimately sized neighbourhood bound by the Humber River, the 401, and Dixon Road. And making the neighbourhood feel all the more small is the fact that the Weston Golf and Country Club takes up nearly half of its land.
To the west of this sizeable green space sits a fairly residential pocket of Etobicoke, filled with everything from apartment complexes to bungalows and even some recently built mega-homes. Residents of 370 Dixon Rd can enjoy a stroll along the quiet residential streets north or south of the building, and yet all they need to do is cross the street in order to reach the Westway Centre, with its banks, drug store, and post office.
When residents need to stock up on groceries, they can head over to the sizeable No Frills at the corner of Islington and Dixon. The drive over to this store takes all of 6 minutes, while those without cars can walk here in 20 minutes or ride the bus over in about 10.
Transportation
Speaking of the bus, residents of 370 Dixon Rd can use the same route — the 52 Lawrence — to travel toward Lawrence West and Lawrence Stations on the University-Spadina and Yonge subway lines, respectively. The former takes about 40 minutes to reach from the 370 Dixon Condos, while the latter takes around 1 hour.
Residents who need to reach the downtown core in a hurry also have a couple of options: they can take a quick bus ride up to the Etobicoke North GO Station, and then a 25-minute GO train to Union Station; alternatively, the 52 Lawrence bus stops at Weston Station, and from there residents can ride the UP Express for about 15 minutes before reaching Union.
Last but not least, drivers living at 370 Dixon and 390 Dixon benefit from living so close to both the 401 and the 427. The 401 is ideal for anyone heading to destinations within Mississauga, North York, or Scarborough, while the 427 provides access to much of Etobicoke, as well as the Gardiner Expressway to the south.
