About 22 Wellesley Street E22 Condominiums

22 Condominiums is one of those buildings that will have you feeling like you’re in the centre of the world – in Canada. There couldn’t be a better place from which to observe the streets, the people, and the sites of Toronto than through the colossal, clear windows of 22 Wellesley Street.

Another triumph from Peter Clewes of architectsAlliance, the simplicity of the 23-storey building epitomizes Clewes’ neomodern approach. In response to the use of ornate decorations in 1970’s and 80’s, buildings created in the neomodern fashion, such as 22 Condominiums, are polished and pared down. Pedestrians passing by on their way to work can’t help but take note of the cool, minimalist look of the building.

    The Suites

Glass, glass and more glass is what give the soft lofts at 22 Condominiums its futuristic, watchful vibe, from both inside and out. Due to this impressive use of glass, the Toronto lofts at 22 Wellesley Street are endowed with floor to ceiling windows, allowing natural light to shine through in the days, as well as those bright city lights after the sun has set.

Glass is also used along the edges of balconies. Units contain generous balconies, including wraparounds for those lucky enough to score a corner suite. Those purchasing corner lofts will be rewarded by panoramic visions of the city due to the abundance of windows facing in multiple directions.

In addition, with 155 units yet only 4-8 units per floor, the odds of scoring Toronto condos for sale with a beloved corner exposure are high. Fewer units per floor also means loft sizes need not be small. One bedroom lofts begin at just shy of 500 square feet, while larger two bedroom plus den units are spread out over approximately 1,600 square feet.

In contrast with natural lighting and ample outdoor space, loft-style design features chosen by II BY IV Design include exposed concrete for the walls and ceilings, hardwood floors, and an open concept layout.

Amenities are generous, with a 24-hour concierge service, exercise facilities, a rooftop lounge with hot tub, a party room, and guest suites available for residents to enjoy.

    The Neighbourhood

While its official address is 22 Wellesley, Yonge Street is also only seconds away. Residents have the city at their doorstep from this advantageous location in the heart of the Church-Yonge Corridor.

Also steps away is the vibrant LGBTQ+ Village area, with a variety of shops, restaurants and nightlife.

Yorkville is also a short walk away, where residents can shop at Holt Renfrew, the Bay, or a myriad of other fashionable boutiques. This is consistently one of the best people-watching spots in the city. Only a short walk down Bloor Street is the Royal Ontario Musem (ROM), where architecture buffs can ogle the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, or history fanatics can check out the latest exhibit. Church Street also offers a swathe of restaurants and bars, from casual pubs to chic brunch spots.

A short walk South with land 22 Condominium residents at Yonge-Dundas Square. The area hosts free concerts, movies, and other events, especially in the summertime. From here, the Eaton Centre provides shelter and shopping in the colder months, while Mel Lastman Square can be enjoyed year-round by skating through the rink in winter, attending Cultura Festival, or appreciating art until dawn at Nuit Blanche.

    Transportation

Beyond those attractions and amenities within walking distance, both the Yonge and Bloor subway lines service residents of 22 Condominiums. Bloor-Yonge Station will take a few minutes to reach, while Wellesley Station on the Yonge line is only seconds away on foot, and connects travelers to North-South trains, East-West streetcars, as well as buses moving toward other parts of the city.

Bike lanes on College and Richmond also provide safe way to stay active, whether on a commute or a leisurely weekend ride.

The Don Valley Parkway is easily accessible by way of Bloor Street East, from which drivers can connect seamlessly with the 401 or the Gardiner expressway.
