About 1815 Yonge Street — MYC
Having built a sterling reputation through a diversity of developments throughout the city, Cresford Developments showcase their skillful eye and well-cultivated tastes at 1815 Yonge Street. Promising prospective residents the utmost in luxury, the MYC Condos also just look magnificent.
Completed in 2014, the MYC Condos credit their minimalist design to Peter Clewes at ArchitectsAlliance. From the top to the bottom of its 25 storeys, the glass and steel exterior holds true to its refined aesthetic. Wraparound balconies give the tower clean lines as it rises, while at street level facing Yonge, a glass wall accents the stonework that encases sections of 1815 Yonge Street. And minimal design doesn’t mean there’s no flair at the MYC Condos: The soaring heights of its lobby certainly gives a grand impression.
Beyond this grand impression, the full set of amenities will definitely please prospective buyers. The 24-hour concierge service, a fully equipped fitness centre, a theatre, and a party room with an attached kitchen keep residents more than satisfied. Still, on the rooftop terrace, a fireplace and lounge is the MYC Condos’ cherry on top.
The Suites
Containing both conventional condos units and townhomes, the building offers 241 suites ranging in size from around 500 to 1,500 square feet, and because of the wide range of floor plans, Toronto condos for sale in this building cast a wide net. Filled with light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, the suites provide spectacular living spaces for anyone from young single professionals to homeowners with small families.
The minimalist aesthetic continues inside its suites. Nine-foot ceilings and engineered hardwood floors throughout principal rooms establish a warm atmosphere, while the kitchen’s granite or Caeserstone countertops and ceramic backsplashes make for very luxurious finishes.
The Neighbourhood
For those wondering, MYC simply stands for where the condos stand, at Merton and Yonge; its strangely satisfying for such a minimalist building to have such a rational name. Though if anyone mistakenly attributes the first part of 1815 Yonge’s name to its location in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood in midtown Toronto, they cannot be blamed — the neighbourhood is such a distinctive attraction.
The condos overlook the Kay Gardner Beltline and the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The latter provides a venerable natural landscape, while the Kay Gardner Beltline features a 4.5 kilometre trail connecting to Oriole Park, a green space easily enjoyed by 1815 Yonge’s residents.
For some very satisfying shopping, residents need only take a ten minute walk down Yonge to the many shops around at St. Clair West Avenue, as the offerings in the immediate vicinity consist of mostly restaurants and cafes. Fortunately, prospective buyers will find the nearby fare both delicious and inexpensive. Alternatively, there’s a Sobeys conveniently close to the MYC Condos, beside the Balliol Parkette, or around the corner off of Yonge.
Transportation
1815 Yonge’s location may feel like a distant escape with such lush surroundings and a more natural landscape, but it is very well connected nonetheless, giving those who live here no difficulty when it comes to getting around the city.
Davisville station is just a short walk up the street. Situated on the Yonge-University subway line, subway trains from Davisville take residents downtown, uptown and anywhere else with ease. Alternatively, Davisville station operates many buses which serve Midtown well.
Last but not least, those who prefer to drive enjoy how well traffic moves in the area throughout most of the day. The drive to the 401 often takes about ten minutes by way of Avenue Road, which is just west of Yonge.
