About 103 The Queensway — NXT Condos
NXT Condos, or “next” condos if you say it really fast — see what they did there? — is a stylish modern high-rise located at 103 The Queensway.
The exterior is striking, standing 29 storeys tall and encased in glass, the front façade is quite wide, but the building is sleek on the sides, giving it a tablet like appearance. Adding an additional layer of appeal to this already desirable property, is the fact that the majority of units in the building have views of Lake Ontario. This building is part of a 2 tower complex, and resides beside NXT II Condos.
103 The Queensway doesn’t skimp on amenities, providing a range of relaxing extras without overwhelming residents with unnecessary add-ons — an indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, fitness centre, tennis courts, shared rooftop deck, parking garage, concierge, and visitor parking.
This building offers another desirable extra that you won’t find in most modern condos — a daycare service. Any parent will tell you that finding a last minute babysitter can be a nightmare, but with a unit here, parents will have one less thing to worry about.
While NXT Condos doesn’t have a green space on-site, Sunnyside Park is just a 5 minute walk from the front doors; Sunnyside Park is home to the Martin Goodman Trail which extends for kilometres to the east and west, connecting to lakeside parks and opening up a wealth of recreation options. If you love nature but have to live in the city, this could be the place for you.
The Suites
This residence contains 464 Toronto condos, all of which are filled with natural light due to floor to ceiling windows — and those with corner units have panoramic views. All units are open concept and maximize square footage with sliding doors that separate bedrooms from living spaces. Units are available in a variety of layouts and exposures, ranging in size from 449 square feet for a 1 bedroom to 1143 for a 2 bedroom + den.
To go with your sweeping waterfront view, you get some pretty nice finishes — wide plank hardwood floors, modern kitchens with breakfast bars, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Bathrooms are modern with vanities that are both eye pleasing and functional, and all suites have private balconies.
High Park & Swansea condos for sale often come with high price tags, but 103 The Queensway is actually one of the more affordable buildings in Toronto's west end; ideal for first time home buyers who are trying to crack the market. And because the price per square foot is on the lower end, families will find 2 bedrooms + dens to be more reasonably priced.
The Neighbourhood
High Park – Swansea is best known for large single family homes, but condos in this family friendly neighbourhood have a ton of appeal. If you’re looking for quiet living within the city limits, this is one of the best areas for that. And with plenty of recreation facilities, athletic centres, and schools are varying academic levels, there’s more than enough to accommodate families.
Residents are just a 10 minute walk from High Park — the jewel of the neighbourhood; this sizeable green space offers over 400 acres of parklands, and has a small zoo, tennis courts, gardens, walking trails, playgrounds, an event stage, an outdoor pool, a café, and much more… yes, there’s more.
For dining out, there are restaurants close to home like Royal Burger, Pizza Pizza, and Sunnyside Pavilion Café. If you’re looking for a more diverse selection of eat-in restaurants, you can make your way north to Bloor for Goodfellas Wood Oven Pizza, The Good Fork, Bloom Restaurant, Queen's Pasta, and more. You’ll also find all the usual fast food chains nearby such as McDonald's.
There are no bumping clubs or bustling dance floors in High Park – Swansea, so if you’re looking for a neighbourhood that’s bursting at the seams with nightlife, 103 The Queensway probably isn't going to work for you. On the other hand, if you just want a pub to enjoy a relaxing drink, there’s Bryden's, The Station Ale House, A Dark Horse, and several other cozy hangouts.
Residents at NXT Condos have shopping options nearby. On Bloor you have an array of boutiques like Trixie and M Boutique for women’s fashion, Binz for kitchen supplies, and SoftMoc for footwear. Closer to home, you’ll find specialized retail stores such as Eurocraft Restoration for furniture and Cheese Boutique. Head west on The Queensway and you’ll encounter big box stores and additional dining options.
Transportation
Now comes the hard part — 103 The Queensway stumbles its way to a 51 Walk Score, like an aging jogger with two bad knees and a missing shoe. As a resident of this building, you’ll need Olympic level endurance to accomplish all of your errands on foot. Sobeys Queensway is roughly a 15 minute walk from the building, so grocery shopping can be done on foot if you’re feeling ambitious.
The building might not offer a walkable location like you'd find with condos in downtown Toronto, but it does have excellent public transit; residents have east and westbound streetcars and buses on The Queensway, and bus route 77 connects to Runnymede Station for subway lines.
Car owners also have a great starting point for their commute and can reach the Gardiner Expressway in mere minute via S Kingsway.
